About the Australian Outback

The sparsely populated Australian Outback and bush country are home to some of Earth’s most iconic animals, including kangaroos with their characteristic joey pouch, koalas who eat hard to digest eucalyptus leaves, and kookaburras with their loud call that sounds like raucous laughter.  A narrow escape from a wildfire teaches Kate the kangaroo that her impressions of koalas and kookaburras were wrong and that success involves embracing each other’s differences and working together.

Our granddaughter certainly is!”
